Beatles Revamp & more on Night Moves!
Yes…The Beatles on “Night Moves”! Well, at least a classic Beatles track given a whole “new” treatment.
There is so much EXCELLENT roots music out there, with more being released all the time, & it's really great to get emails from listeners asking; "Hey...what was that song you played..."?
Be sure to keep listening to "Night Moves" to hear some of the very best acts in the Roots Music genre. Whether they're old faves or new to your ears, chances are I'll be spinning them on "Night Moves" sooner or later.
Here are a couple of spotlight tracks that you’ll hear...
- Wyckham Porteous - “Please Please Me"

This great cover version came about because music legend Andrew Loog Oldham (producer of Wyckham’s new CD “3 a.m.”) was in the room when the Beatles first recorded the track many years ago. Andrew was their publicist at the time. He knew they wrote the song as a ballad, actually a tribute to Roy Orbison who they admired. George Martin didn't like it as a ballad and had the tempo increased to the way we all know the song. They taped over the first versions so none of them exist today and only those people who were in the room knew that this was how the song was written.

- The Sadies – “Anna Leigh”
Well, ya just can’t nail these guys down into any particular genre. Alternative? Punk? Cow Punk? Roots Rock? Folk Rock? Don’t bother tryin’ – just groove to them!
The roots are definitely here, with brothers Dallas & Travis Good whose Dad was a member of legendary Canadian country outfit “The Good Brothers”.

These guys have released a whack of albums, including some soundtrack work. "Anna Leigh" is from their latest disc "New Seasons".
These guys are probably the closest band (attitude-wise) to The Ramones that you’ll hear on “Night Moves”
Enjoy!!
