Fall Clean-up

I was reading the other day....one of the secrets to success, is the life-learned lesson of organisation. Truth of the matter is, some of us are better at it than others. And some of us forget over the years how to be organized. Some tips:
-Machines that are broken just take up space. Throw them away. You got a computer that doesn't work? Get rid of it (recycle). I got a cassette tape machine in my office. Know why? Me neither.
-Books take up space. Keep the ones you enjoy, get rid of the rest....(same rule applies to children). Books are like rabbits & coat hangers; they seem to multiply & before you know it, you have a used book store in every room. I have books that I promiseĀ  I'll re-read. I never do. Who has the time?
-Digitally, do not open your email unless you have the time to finish it. There will be some that require replies & if you've got a stack that you don't have time to reply to, they'll never get done. I create a new file for email that needs replies. And then I create another file for replies to the replies.....obviously, I'm not very good atĀ  this stuff. Reply, delete.
-Go through desk drawers & get rid of anything without functional or sentimental value. I have stuff in drawers that I never look at...that receipt I got from home depot for the widget I bought that broke & was thrown out years ago, a receipt from the grocery store for mushrooms & potatoes...from last year...(reminds me, if those potatoes are still around, I should get rid of those too).
-And keep your car neat. If you have to clear off the seats for passengers, you know you got junk. Get rid of it all. And don't just cram it all into the glove compartment, because after awhile, you'll stuff that thing silly & eventually it'll explode (I saw that episode on 'Mythbusters'...not pretty).

You must be ruthless & de-clutter to the max. The Prime Directive-if it's dated & has no sentimental value, (unless it's your spouse we're talking about)...get rid of it.....and I'd seriously consider the spouse too.
