The Virgin Festival was founded in 1996 by British billionaire Sir Richard Branson.
Branson came to Calgary in October to personally announce that he would bring the rock concert series to the city.
About 20,000 spectators are expected to attend the festival, which will bring about 40 acts to Calgary including the Tragically Hip and one of this summer's most highly-anticipated music announcements... Stone Temple Pilots have officially revealed that the band will be reuniting and will launch a massive 2008 concert tour encompassing over 65 dates and hitting all corners of North America. Other acts booked to hit the outdoor stage on June 21 and 22 include Three Days Grace, Corb Lund, Face to Face, The Dudes, Pride Tiger, Crash Parallel, The New Pornographer, Matthew Good, City and Colour, Stars, Constantines, Attack in Black, Ten Second Epic, The Spades, The Whitsundays, and Said the Whale.

A limited number of early bird tickets are available at futureshop.ca beginning today (WEDNESDAY) April 9th at 10 a.m. at futureshop.ca
General ticket sales begin April 12 through Future Shop and through Ticketmaster.
One-day passes are $75.50 and Two-day passes are $125.
