Sick of the rain yet?  Yeah, stupid question I know!  This stat probably won't be terribly surprising to you -- but we've already had 99% of June's rainfall in just the first 11-days of the month. 

Meantime, a flood watch is in effect for Fish Creek -- and you're being warned to just stay away because the river is running fast and furiously. At points Fish Creek is overflowing it's banks and is expected to keep rising. High stream-flow advisories are also out for tributaries of the Bow River, upstream from Calgary, the Elbow River, upstream from the Glenmore dam, as well as the Sheep River in Okotoks and the Highwood River through the town of High River.

Alberta is spending 178-million dollars to lure and retain more high-tech companies. The nine-point program announced includes a 100-million-dollar cash injection into a new venture capital corporation. Premier Ed Stelmach says the province wants to make it attractive for high-tech companies set up and stay in Alberta.

Mixed emotions from Canadian aboriginals in the wake of Prime Minister Harper's apology for native residential school abuse.  Some say they're hopeful the apology will help survivors move forward.  But some survivors say their lives were destroyed by the schools, and there's no way that harm can be undone.

She's a Grammy-winning singing sensation and now our very own k-d lang has a an honorary Doctorate of Laws degree. The University of Alberta awarded her the honour at its spring convocation yesterday. The singer from Consort Alberta, told graduates they have a moral obligation to help every being on the planet.  KD was called a bold and inspirational role model and an Albertan who has already left a social and cultural legacy.
