Police are confirming the identity of the man murdered in a drive-by shooting Saturday night in Calgary. 23-year old Roger Chin was found dead in his SUV -- and cops are still looking for his killer. Chin was apparently a high-ranking Asian gang member. Police are hoping that with Chin's death, people might now be more willing to come forward about a number of unsolved gang killings in recent years. They're always keeping an eye out for retribution.
A bomb scare last night in the southeast. Cops were called to the area of MacLeod Trail and Bonaventure Drive, after someone found a suspicious object tied to garbage bin in a back alley. The area was completely blocked off for hours as police and the bomb squad investigated. The object was eventually detonated by the bomb squad robot and nobody was hurt.
Climate change and oil are the hot topics at the G-8 leaders meeting in Japan. A statement from the leaders today agrees to cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2050. The leaders also urged a temporary ramping up of oil production and refining activity to combat soaring global oil prices.
State media says Burma's military regime has finally approved visas for more than 15-hundred international aid workers to help cyclone victims. The move comes more than two months after the disaster, which killed more than 84-thousand people and left nearly 54-thousand missing.
