Police are investigating what appears to be our city's latest murder.  Police got a call about shots fired in the crowded beltline community of Connaught yesterday around 11:30.  When officers arrived, they found a man dead in a crashed vehicle in an alley along 11 street SW, between 12th and 13th Aves. Police are looking for a suspect, described as being in his early to mid-twenties, dark skinned, and wearing a hoodie.

A judge has ruled a Calgary woman didn't break any laws when she ran down and killed a little girl and her mother at a northeast crosswalk.  The Judge said 19-year-old Angela Ta was not able to stop in time as the 6-year-old and her mom stepped out onto 32nd Ave, in January 2007.

Feeling hot, hot, hot!!  Calgary has hit a new high temperature record. The Environment Canada website shows the temperatue this hour as 33.7 degrees. The old record was 33.3 back in 1919. 

Tropical Storm Fay has come ashore in southwest Florida this morning. It made landfall at Cape Romano, just south of Naples with less than hurricane-force winds. Fay crossed the Florida Keys yesterday without causing major damage, but she could be a huge rainmaker across the state.

The Japanese government is investigating a possible battery defect in the popular iPod Nano music player. That after 3-Nanos overheated and sparked while being recharged. A defect in the lithiuim-ion battery is suspected in all three cases.

And one of the coolest dudes ever is getting the proper recognition in Milwaukee today.  Yes, city officials will unveil a bronze statue of "The Fonz.''  The series ``Happy Days'' was set in Milwaukee and ran from 1974 to 1984.  Henry Winkler, who played Arthur Fonzarelli, will be on hand for today's ceremony.
