3-men and a teenage girl were arrested yesterday after a 3-hour standoff in northeast calgary. Calgary Police surrounded and evacuated the Applewood Village apartments, behind Marlbrough Mall shortly after 9. 2-people called police to say they had been held hostage in their apartment. Police say the incident is not gang related, but does involve drugs.
3-downtown calgary malls will soon be turned into one giant mall! "Innovation at the Core" will consist of a total of 600-thousand square feet. the fast food court will double in size, and will seat just under a thousand people. They will be taking out all the old blocky-style look of TD Square and the Eaton Centre, relocating escalators, and the roof will be one giant skylight running the entire length of the mall. It should be open for business by 2010.
Canada's chief of defence staff says the deaths of three more soldiers is an indication of a worsening security situation in Afghanistan. The troops were killed in a massive roadside bomb blast along a stretch of highway in Zhari district. The dead are all from the Edmonton-based Princess Pat's Canadian Light Infantry.

On Wednesday, the 64-year old was released from a Vietnamese prison, where he served 3-years for molesting little girls. Vietnam kicked him out of the country and when he tried to go to Japan, they said "beat it" too
