The list of products pulled from shelves in light of the meat recall from Maple Leaf Foods has jumped by four. Various types of sandwiches have been pulled In the Maritimes and Ontario. The listeriosis bacteria is linked to an outbreak that has killed 6-people in Ontario.Health officials are investigating what role listeria played in six other deaths.  There may also be a connection to 4-deaths here in Alberta.

RCMP have seized millions of dollars worth of counterfeit goods, following a series of raids in Calgary. The RCMP worked with border services, searching three Calgary locations over the past month. They found over 7-thousand items like purses, ball caps, jewellery and t-shirts, all of which had been imported from China. All of the itmes were falsely labelled with brand names like Prada, Versace as well as Gucci.

A Boeing 7-37 made an emergency landing in central France after the cabin depressurized. The pilot put the Ryanair jet into a dive, losing eight-thousand metres of altitude in five minutes late yesterday. Of the 168 passengers, 26 were taken to hospital with ear, nose, and chest pain.

Hillary Clinton is among the 11 speakers featured on day two of the Democratic Convention in Denver. Clinton's speech comes on the 88th anniversary of women winning the right to vote. One of the themes at the convention is unity, and Senator Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama both addressed that in their speeches last night.

A new poll suggests a vast majority of Canadians are happy with the performance of Canadian athletes at the Beijing Olympics.A Harris-Decima survey shows 53 per cent of Canadians who were asked are satisfied, and 26 per cent are very satisfied.Canada won at 18 medals in Beijing -- three gold, nine silver, and six bronze.
